In a restaurant, the word “app” usually refers to an “appetizer.” But at Global Mundo Tapas, a restaurant in Sydney, Australia, “app” has a slightly different meaning. The restaurant’s menu has been replaced with the MenuPad app for the Apple iPad. It was only a matter of time until this happened somewhere. You can already read a book and place a Chipotle order through an app, why not do away with even more paper and go digital? The app allows the restaurant to easily change its menu, shows pictures of each dish, and also communicates orders directly to the kitchen, cutting down on server error (the human kind of server, that is.) And, just to show off, as Apple likes to do, it can even recommend dishes based on the weather or your mood. Talk about a seasonal dish.
