Mini Releases Roadside Assistance App


Move over OnStar. Adios roadside assistance button. And watch out cell phone.

Mini  has collaborated with insurance company Allstate to create an Apple iPhone app that allows its users to automatically call assistance in case of an emergency. When you install the application, you put in your vehicle ID number and have the option to select a photo of your car.

So the next time that you run our of gas, leave the lights, catch a flat,  just whip  out your iPhone (or GPS equipped Blackberry),  select the service you need and Allstate will immediately dispatch help to the coordinates provided by the phone’s GPS system.

Now, if only Gieco would come out with something similar for my Ferrari, I’d be set. Check out the video below for a demo.
